About the Artist | Meet the Maker

My name is Rebecca Clarke & I am the creator and owner of Ruru's Rings. I adore all things jewelry and the making of it, but my obsession started with wire wrapping.

When I was a junior in high school I had an art class that explored different art making technics such as pottery, photography, pastels, painting, and more. My art teacher at the time was an amazing inspiration and help to me gaining the confidence to venture into different outlets other than painting and drawing, as that was all I knew up to this point. I enjoyed the process of creating physical objects but stuck with painting and drawing as I had a major fixation on getting my art to look as life-like as possible. It was the ultimate challenge. Until I saw a TikTok of a DIY wire wrap ring. It was a fun little craft with some glass beads and cheap copper wire. Of course, it turned my finger green but I loved it! I never found rings my size in stores and now I could make them? My passion grew for jewelry making and with each piece I made I strived for it to be better than the last. As life-like as possible, where you almost couldn't tell it was wire wrapped. I moved on from cheap materials to quality gemstones, sterling silver wire, & 14k gold filled wire. I spent hours every day creating and perfecting my skills, researching other artists and methods for inspiration. All of my creative energy was poured into this craft. I put down the paints for a while, and dived into metal and gems

Fast forward to 2024 where I recently turned 20 and am about to launch my first silversmithed launch. I have taken on the title of a multidisciplinary faith based artist, specializing in jewelry. With every piece, whether its photographs, paintings, or jewels, I aspire to be a witness of the love of Christ and minister to all through my art. This journey is a long one with many paths to follow. The avenues and facets of art creation, specifically jewelry fabrication, are endless. I plan to explore them all, endlessly.
